William practices in the firm’s government and municipal law and healthcare practice groups. He works on a wide variety of matters with public entities, including employment and personnel issues, policies, and regulations, and on medical malpractice defense, including hospital, clinic and physician practices, and public entities including providers of healthcare services in correctional institutions.
Prior to joining Sturgill Turner, he served as Staff Attorney to Fayette County Circuit Court Judge Lucy VanMeter, where he assisted the judge in preparing for civil motion hour; drafted orders in civil and criminal matters; researched legal questions related to civil motion, civil and criminal evidentiary issues, and suppression issues; helped prepare civil and criminal jury instructions; and evaluated default judgments.
During law school, William served two years as a judge on the University of Kentucky College of Law Moot Court Board. His experience includes judicial internships with U.S. District Court Judge Claria Horn Boom and Fayette Family Court Judge Lucinda Masterton, as well as undergraduate internships with the Kentucky Attorney General’s Office of Consumer Protection.
