Pete’s practice focuses on energy and utilities law and regulation issues, as both general counsel and a litigation attorney. A former Staff Attorney in the Kentucky Justice & Public Safety Cabinet and attorney with regional defense firms, Pete is well-equipped to represent utilities, intervenors, and other public sector entities in cases before the Public Service Commission and other regulatory bodies, as well as in litigation.

Pete represented the Cabinet in complex litigation involving §1983 civil rights claims, employment law, and constitutional issues. He served as lead counsel in Kentucky Personnel Board matters, advising on employment disputes and disciplinary actions, and litigated cases through trial, administrative hearings, and appeals in both state and federal courts. He also handled Open Records Act appeals and provided legal guidance on compliance and regulatory matters.

He counsels public and private energy and utility entities on regulatory matters before the Kentucky Public Service Commission and assists corporate clients with compliance. Pete regularly advises on internal policies, regulatory updates, and requirements under the Open Records and Open Meetings Acts, helping clients navigate administrative, state, and federal obligations.
