Hayden practices in the firm’s Education and Healthcare practice groups. He works extensively with educational institutions and other public entities on employment and personnel issues, policies, and regulations, and on medical malpractice defense, including hospital, clinic and physician practices, and public entities including providers of healthcare services in correctional institutions. Prior to joining Sturgill Turner, he served as a Judicial Law Clerk to the Hon. Shannon T. Sherrill and Hon. Sean C. Workowski in the Augusta County Circuit Court (Staunton, Va.)
During law school, Hayden served as a student practitioner in the Intellectual Property & Technology Law Clinic of the Jacob Burns Community Legal Clinics in Washington, D.C., where he counseled clients on intellectual property matters and prepared patent and trademark search reports and applications for filing with the United States Patent & Trademark Office. He also served as an intern with the Copyright Alliance in Washington, D.C. researching copyright law information, and with the Appalachian Research and Defense Fund (AppalReD Legal Aid) in Richmond, Ky.
