Emma’s practice focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense in the firm’s Insurance Litigation and Liability Defense practice group, and on education law with the Education Law group. She works on a wide variety of cases, including insurance defense, education litigation, premises and automobile liability, personal injury, medical negligence, contracts, and more.
Prior to joining Sturgill Turner, Emma served as Staff Attorney to Kentucky Court of Appeals Judge Glenn E. Acree, where she drafted appellate opinions, reviewed briefs and filings, and researched pertinent legal issues. During law school, Emma worked as a law clerk for a boutique defense firm in Minnesota, assisting with complex litigation, and for a criminal defense firm. As a student instructor for the UMN Law Civil Rights/Liberties Moot Court, she coordinated with the overseeing professor to co-teach lessons on legal research, writing, and oral advocacy to 2L students.
