In recent years, many businesses faced with an impending legal dispute have selected alternative dispute resolution, including arbitration, as an alternative to costly and time-consuming litigation. It is now common for contracts and other business agreements to include a clause mandating arbitration as the exclusive method of resolving disputes that would be otherwise decided through litigation. Two of our more seasoned litigators and mediators, Steve Barker and Pat Moloney are also experienced arbitrators capable of conducting binding arbitration, either as a sole arbitrator or as part of an arbitration panel.
Steve is a four-time U.S. News & World Report Best Lawyers Lexington Lawyer of the Year (2011, 2013, 2014, 2016), with 40 years of experience as an employment law and education law trial attorney. He has been admitted into the prestigious National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals. Steve serves as the firm’s primary representative in the Employment Law Alliance – a global association of employment attorneys in more than 135 countries and all 50 states.
Pat has more than four decades of courtroom experience, and has been named the U.S. News & World Report Best Lawyers Lexington Lawyer of the Year in Medical Malpractice Defense (2015) and Personal Injury Defense (2016). He has been inducted into the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals, the American College of Trial Lawyers and serves as the Southern Regional Director of the Defense Research Institute (DRI).
Their areas of experience include contractual, employment and nursing home arbitration.
