Lexington, Kentucky
Sturgill, Turner, Barker & Moloney is pleased to announce that Lana McGinnis, the firm’s office administrator, recently became a Certified Legal Manager (CLM)SM having met the eligibility requirements and passing the written examination on April 30, 2006. The CLM certification program is offered by the Association of Legal Administrators which allows qualified legal administrators to demonstrate, through an examination process, a mastery of core areas of knowledge that are essential for the successful performance in managing a law firm or office. McGinnis is one of only four law firm administrators in Kentucky who are qualified as Certified Legal Managers.
The efforts of McGinnis are shown in the firm’s recognition as one of the Top 15 “Best Places to Work in Kentucky.” The selection process was based on an assessment of the company’s employee policies and procedures and the results of an internal employee survey. The competition was sponsored by the Kentucky Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) state council, in conjunction with the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce. The program is a multi-year initiative to motivate companies in the Commonwealth to focus, measure, and move their workplace environments toward excellence.
