Sturgill-Turner is pleased to announce that Gardner Turner, a founding member of the firm, has been awarded the 2006 Kentucky Bar Service Award which was presented to him by the Kentucky Bar Association on June 15, 2006. The award is presented annually to an attorney having distinguished service to the bench and bar.
For 23 years, Turner served as Inquiry Commision Chair for the Kentucky Bar Association. In 1991, he was named Kentucky Bar Association's Outstanding Lawyer, and in 1995, he received the Henry T. Duncan Award from the Fayette County Bar Association in recognition of personal and professional conduct and community service. Turner has served on professionalism committees for the Kentucky Bar Association and has appeared as speaker and panel member on numerous aspects of the disciplinary process and legal ethics throughout the state.
Upon receiving the award, Turner said, "It is a great honor to receive this award, but more importantly to do what I've been able to for the bench and bar of Kentucky." He added, "The greatest thing is to be recognized by your peers. I thank you so much."
