BACKGROUND: Kacey was raised in St. Petersburg, Florida, but has called Kentucky home since 1984. As a student at the University of Kentucky College of Law she was the recipient of the Academic Excellence Scholarship and received the Outstanding Oral Advocate, Moot Court Award. Kacey was among the first mediators trained and certified by the Mediation Center of Central Kentucky. She is a certified Professional in Human Resources and provides instruction in employment and human resources matters, including serving as an instructor for the Society for Human Resources Management certification programs.

Kacey is married with two young boys and spends much of her free time at the baseball field with her children.
