BACKGROUND: Born into a minister's family, Doug has lived in Owensboro, Paducah, Richmond, Grayson and Lexington, Kentucky. After earning a B.A. in Political Science at Vanderbilt University, a J.D. at the University of Kentucky College of Law, and a 2-year clerkship with U.S. District Court Judge Henry R. Wilhoit, Jr., Doug began practicing in Owensboro. He joined Sturgill, Turner, Barker & Moloney, PLLC in 1988 which was then Sturgill, Turner & Truitt. Doug is married and has two daughters.
